FULL TITLE:

Blue Flames Squadron The Bird is the Word

This is a bit of a fanart of a fellow fanfiction writer Leenden (Jeremy The Foxx McLaughlin). Based on his spin off fan story of Storm Hawks. This is part of the Phiarian Squadron of Terra Pyre. Sky Knight Jodi Seers and her brother and wingman Kai Seers. As part of being a Sky Knight squadron, they have been given the honor to be trained by the legendary warrior trainer and shape changer, Arygyn the Skeelur. However, Arygyn's methods of "training" seem to resemble recreational exercises.

The training Arygyn puts Jodi through is to paddle navigate through the surrounding body of water several laps around the central volcanic island. Kai's training is to scale the center active volcano to retrieve a rare fossilized flower in a crystal. Things seem simple enough and to Jodi this seems all like a waste of time. As Jodi starts her lap in a small boat, Arygyn magically controls the weather in physical and illusions that Jodi has to battle 100 foot swells that keeps getting bigger and bigger. Kai's climb to the volcano top was also hindered by Arygyn's magic to actually erupt and spew unnatual burning rocks as those found among the Wastelands.

Jodi eventually completes her task well, but loses her glasses half way through. Kai was also successful in retrieving the crystal fossil. They both return to where Arygyn awaits them, lying on a pool side chair, sipping on a coconut, and listening to a recording of Surfin' Bird by the Trashmen.

Jodi is pissed that she felt that she wasted her time, nearly drowned, and lost her glasses. Kai is however very pleased with himself that he accomplished his task. He is still singed and is slightly on fire. His attention is more on the crystal he got.

Arygyn: (shuts off phonograph player) "Yep. The bird is the word... Ah back I see, Jodi.. and Kai."

Jodi: "..."

Kai: "Whooo! Check this out, brah."

Arygyn: "You know the funny thing, Jodi? I've been listening to Surfin' Bird and watching you paddle those humongous waves. The music syncs up sooo well." (starts up phonograph player)

Phonograph player: "-PAPA OOMA MOW MOW, PAPA OOMA MOW MOW; PAPA OOMA MOW MOW, PAPA OOMA MOW MOW..."

Jodi (smashes the phonograph player) "EH! I'VE BEEN PADDLING 200 FOOT SWELLS OUT DEA! NEARLY DROWNED! AND I LOST MY FRIGGIN GLASSES! AND I FIND YOU HEA GOOFING OFF!"

Kai: (finally seeing Jodi) "Hey sis. What happened to you? You fell overboard?"

Jodi: (groan)
